make your own wipes ?

do you wash your fabric first?  I want to do terry on one side flannel on the other.

I would, as the materials may shrink differently which could cause wonkiness.

I did and was glad for it. The materials shrunk a little, as well as changed shape slightly.

Yes, prewash for sure!  One may shrink more than the other, and even change shape like PP said.  I have a GM wipe that doesn't seem like it was prewashed and it annoys me everytime I use it since it doesn't lay flat.

so do you wash a whole yard of fabric as one big piece?  sorry I am a total newb

I've never made my own wipes, but I've done some clothing sewing.  I've always pre-washed my entire yardage of fabric and never had a problem.
