I idea of an IUD totally creeps me out - personal issue. LOL
We will be sticking with good old fashioned condoms. I went off the pill a year and half before TTC to see if it was the reason for my mood swings and severe headaches - it was. I wish I had tried that sooner, I was on the pill for 8 years. I will never take it again, H feels the same way about them.
Married & TTC #1 since 8/28/10
BFP #1 10/25/10 - EDD 7/5/11 -M/C 11/10/10
BFP #2 12/16/10 - EDD 8/26/11 - BORN 8/10/11
I practiced FAM for a year before we TTC, and would like to go back to that. A little concerned about being able to temp/chart with a baby though. I suppose I'd consider the "next best thing" a non-hormonal IUD. I really really loved being off birth control completely though. I wish there was a man pill :P
ETA: I have stupidly regular cycles and can tell when I O by CM, so condoms and FAM might also work for us without temping.
I don't know what I'll do. We definitely don't want 3u3!
I definitely don't want an IUD. The mini-pill killed my milk supply last time, so I don't really want to take that again while I'm bf'ing. I doubt we'll have much time to have sex for the first year anyway with 2u2.
I'm pretty sure I won't be going back on hormonal birth control. Post partum we will use condoms and then when baby is around 1 we'll ttc#2. I have PCOS so we want to get back to ttc soon since we won't know how long it'd take.
We aren't planning on any BC after this one is born. I'd be fine with 2u2, but I had fertility issues, so I have a feeling it will take a little longer. We'll see

Condoms and charting will be our post birth plans. Anything to prevent being on hormones like birth control pills, I wont be taking them ever again. We kind of want our kids close but want to wait a year before trying again for our 2nd.
I'll be going back on Mirena at my 6 wk check up. I had it for 3 years between DS and this pregnancy and I loved it. I stopped having a period about 6 months after I got it in. Although getting it put in and taken out hurt like heck, it was worth it for not having crazy mood swings or ridiculously heavy cycles.
No clue! I actually never got AF after going off BCP 2 years ago so I don't even know if I'll get it after baby. BCP was giving me some issues towards the end and I wonder if it had anything to do with not ovulating or getting AF. I guess I'll figure this out later. Not too worried...

Well originally I had planned on just charting after this baby. We had planned on starting for our second probably when this one was about a year old. With the way this pregnancy has gone we will be spacing our children out a bit more. I have no idea what I am going to do now and will talk to my Ob when it gets closer to deciding.
I have already talked to my doctor about getting the Mirena as soon as possible after giving birth. DH and I only want one child and until he is ready for the snip snip its our best option.
I'm not 100% sure yet. We are about 90% sure this is our last baby, so if we decide 100% that we are done, DH will get the snip! While we are still deciding I'm thinking I may go back on the pill or get the IUD, but I've had so many friends have problems with the IUD that I'm a little nervous about it!
nothing. for me ebf was 100% effective. my period didnt return until 6 weeks after I weaned completely. i think we will want similar timing for #3 so its the same plan to nurse for a year and then see what happens.
I refuse to ever touch hormonal BC ever again. Ever since finding out I have PCOS before TTC DS, I am more interested in being in tune with my body. I use NFP/FAM and it works great for DH and I.

I'm not sure because we haven't decided how far apart we want to space baby #2. But I will likely go back on BC as soon as it is safe. BC is the only thing that really helps my acne.

We just used condoms after DS until we decided to start trying again. Will probably start with that again after this baby and then switch to charting/temping. I was on the pill for many years before getting pregnant and although it worked for us as far as not getting pregnant I don't love the idea of all the extra hormones in me.
I had the Mirena IUD. I will for sure be getting it again.
1. Aside from the initial spotting, I did not have a period the entire time I was on it. That's THREE years.
2. It had absolutely no effect on my milk supply. I was an exclusive pumper. I would have really noticed a decrease.
3. I liked not having to think about my birth control. It's so reliable too-just as effective as getting your tubes tied but completely reversible.
4. Speaking of reversible, I got pregnant my second cycle after removal.
5. As the hormones don't get absorbed into your bloodstream through your uterus, you don't have the same hormonal side effects of the pill. The hormones only work on your uterus so I wasn't the same crazy woman on the IUD as I was on the pill.
The downside of the IUD is that it hurts when it gets put in. You take some Ibuprofen beforehand and it's not so bad. It felt kindof like a rough internal or a cramp. But compared to just having given birth it wasn't bad at all. You spot for a few weeks afterwards (for me it was two months) but at that time I really didn't feel like having sex anyways so it was a welcome excuse.
Probably spermicide and FAM, which we used to successfully avoid for over a year after I got of hormonal BC for cholesterol reasons. It wasn't hard at all.
I will never touch hormonal BC again. I will just pay attention to my CM and avoid sex during my fertile time.
It took a while for me to get pregnant this time, so I don't expect an "oopsie" baby next go-around.
I think this is what I will do as well. I am not against BC, but I was off of it for a few years before we stared TTC, and I liked not taking it.
I also have a very regular cycle, so we should be okay. Plus, DH pulls out (sorry if TMI). That along with avoiding during my fertile time should do the trick. Plus, not that I want 2u2, but if it happend, we would go with it.
I went off hormonal bc in January 2008 b/c of mood swings/headaches--we got pg in May w/ DS b/c of one time of failing to use a condom =D After he was born, we thought we'd go back to condoms, but we actually used the "pull and pray" method...and it worked for 18 months. We started TTC after that, and now that we'll have 2 ages 2.5 and under, I REALLY don't want to risk an unplanned pregnancy, so I think I'm going to insist that H wear a condom until we decide to try for #3.

i can't take hormonal BC and i dont want to risk condoms so i am thinking an iud si the way to go, too. i heard from one source it feels like HELL having them removed and then o heard from another she barely noticed. i guess i will learn either way!
None. We tried for over two years and had to do IVF for this pregnancy, so we won't be using any. We had always wanted a family of 3-4 and I'm already 35. If we get pregnant again, fantastic! If not, then we'll decide what to do from there.
