are you feeding your LO if you started solids at 6 months?
DD will be 8 months tomorrow and is eating 2 meals per day and per wholesomebabyfood, it suggests around 9 months but some start at 7-8 months.
I'd like to wait t'ill she is 9 months to start 3 meals per day considering I sometimes have a hard time of getting her to finish her bottles and I know formula is more important then solids at this stage. Just wondering what everyone else is doing?
TIA!
Re: How many meals per day
We have been doing 3 meals a day since about 8 months but we keep them small. She was just doing like 2 ozs of cereal in the morning, 2 ozs of food (1 oz of 2 different things) at lunch and 1 - 1 1/2 oz of something else for dinner. It was enough to make it part of the routine without detracting from her still nursing enough.
She is just now in the last 2 weeks up to 4 oz of cereal, 4 ozs (still 2 things so 2 and 2) at lunch, and 2 ozs for dinner. If you are concerned about the solids making up too much of their diet this is a good way to balance it so they still get them and get to try lots of different things but don't eat more than they need.
3 meals / day, approx. 3-4 oz of food / meal & drinking 30 oz of formula / day.
LO is pretty small, 3% for weight @ 6 months & always finishes his bottles/meals
We give our son 1-2 meals a day. I'll give him one sometime in the morning if we're not out running around the whole time and then my wife and I give him a meal around 5:30pm, about an hour before bedtime.
So far he's in love with butternut squash, applesauce, prunes, mango, banana and pears. Peas have been his least favorite so far (can't say that I blame him).

DD is a couple of weeks younger than your DD and we also started solids at 6 months. Pedi told us to start at 2 meals a day, but sometimes we only have time for 1 meal around dinner time.
She'll usually finish whatever we feed her, unless it's a new food. She also has about 32oz of formula a day. She's a little chub chub!
