I posted this on FB, but I have to share this!
We picked Quincy's urn today. I had looked on-line and didn't see anything I liked at all so I was nervous we wouldn't find anything that really represented our son. But the super nice employee showed us these urns made out Hawaiian koa wood with a Hawaiian honu turtle on it. The turtle was even blue, perfect for my little man and we loved that he would have something of Hawaii with the wood.
I got home and started looking up honu turtles on Etsy and found a Hawaiian seller who had some info on the honu turtle. We didn't know it when we picked it, but the honu turtle is often found in Hawaiian mythology as a personal family guardian and honu means "one who guards over children." That is totally my Quincy!
We live very near the beach and my neighbor said the turtles will come onto the beach at certain times a year. It will be like Quincy coming to visit!
I also found an amethyst turtle charm-Q's birthstone! It is so perfect!
