Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Yogurt and meat?

DS is soon to be 6 months. We started solids right at 4 months and he currently has four 8 oz. bottles per day, as well as, 3 baby food meals a day. We give oatmeal cereal and fruit (from jar) for breakfast, 2  half jars of veggies and 1 half jar fruit for lunch and dinner.  At what age are you supposed to intruduce yogurt (like YoBaby) and meats?  He has no teeth yet so the meat would be baby food jar meat.  He is currently eating stage 2 Earths Best baby food. He will have Mum Mums every now and then. TIA

  • DS has been eating yoghurt, meat and fish for at least 2 weeks now. No worries.

  • We started yogurt at a little after 6 months.  Meat has been gradually introduced since around 6 months--she will eat small amounts of shredded turkey or chicken, ground beef, etc.  The only way she will eat the jarred meat baby food is if it is mixed with rice cereal and a veggie puree.  I don't blame her--the baby food meat purees smell like cat food.
