Cloth Diapering

GroVia and Fuzzibunz ... New here.

DD just started having issue with every kind of disposable imaginable, so we are abruptly starting CDing.

I've done quite a bit of research in the last few days on everything I can think of with CDing, but I'm having the most difficulty figuring out what diapers I REALLY will love. - I'm sure this is something that I just have to try different kinds to find out, but I still am going to ask opinions.

I'm not super comfortable with buying CD's online before I know how they are, and there aren't many places near me that sell CD's. My options are fairly limited, and from what I've found, I like the Fuzzibunz and GroVia the best (from actually seeing and feeling them at the stores here.)

What are your opinions on these two CD's? Pros and cons to both?

TIA!

  • I have reviews of both systems in my blog on the Adventures in CD page.  If you're interested in both, get a couple of each and try them for a few days and see what you think and how they fit your LO.  One person's "best" CD might be another's "worst" because of individualized fit.

  • I use tots bots easy fit, BG 4.0/3.0 and Fuzzibunz - currently waiting for some fitteds to come.  I like the Fuzzibunz a lot - and my husband likes them best.  I think it really just has to do with what fits your LO best and how you like to diaper.

fyi, I have some new, medium FBs for sale right now - 2 cotton candy and 1 crushed berries left.  Email me if you are interested!

  • I have tried 6 or 8 different kinds of pockets an FBOS are among my favs.  Some people don't like the trimness of the pocket b/c it makes stuffing harder.  But it also makes the dipe less bulky.

Love my Grovia AI2s.  Only downside is that the "system doesn't always work as advertised since when the kid poops it often gets on the shell, requiring the shell to be changed.  (Since it's lined with a cloth mesh you can't just wipe it out.)

I love my GroVia dipes, too.  I have almost 20 shells, though, so it's no problem if I happen to use 2-3 in a day.  The washable inserts are cotton and do seem to stain easily, but they're absorbent and I haven't had any poo leaks.

We chose this AI2 system because DH wasn't so excited about CDing.  He has really learned to like the GVs and doesn't reach for sposies.  I really like the Bio-soaker disposable inserts for when we're out.  They fit a little more trim than the washables and are biodegradable.  They are more expensive than the Flip inserts (which also work fine with my shells), but the gussets at the legs are nice and the Flips don't have these.
