I worked in as assisted living part time (occupational therapy) for about 2 months. I was then offered another position I could not pass up (less hours, closer to home much better pay) so I told my boss what had happened.
I offered to stay on contingent (basically working if they need extra help) She said that would be great and asked if there were certain days I was available. I told her it really depended on my husband's work schedule and mine and she said I could call them as well if I had a free day to see if they needed help.
Well that was about 2 months ago and between work, doctors apts and the kids I have not called them but they have also not called me. I got a check in the mail from the corporate office (they knew I was leaing as well) for $250 which is part of the 1000 sign on bonus I got and was to be broken up and paid quarterly. They also still send me things in the mail to update my file etc which I have been keeping up with.
I technically am still employed there but was surprised they sent me the 250...should I cash the check? thank you!
Re: WWYD (work related)
I'd call and check in on it. Explain that you've been shifted from full-time to "on call" an you want to determine if your bonus offer is still valid.
It would suck to have to pay them back after you cashed it.
