My mom watches K for us during the weekdays and she keeps telling me that K doesn't nap much. She'll take 2 very short naps (20-30 minutes) each time. I think my 1st napped more then this at 6 months. I don't think she's getting enough sleep during the day.
Re: another 6 month old ? - how many/how long are naps?
Up: 7am
Nap: 9am - 1 hour
Nap 12:30pm - 2 hours
Bed: 7pm
My DD goes to daycare and only takes 2-3 15-25 minutes nap a day! I hate it because I also feels like she's not getting enough sleep, although luckily she does STTN 9-8. I kept her home one day last week due to weather and she took an hour nap in the morning and a 3 hour nap in the afternoon, so I think if she was home in her nice quiet bedroom, she would nap more. She's a very happy and healthy 6 mo. old though, so apparently it's not negatively affecting her!
DS also goes to daycare so he doesn't sleep the greatest.
6:30- up
9:00 - 40 minute nap
11:00 - 40 minute nap
2:00 - 40 minute nap
4:00 - 1.5 - 2 hour nap
8:00 - bed
On the weekends he takes 2 naps about 2 hours each but goes to bed ealier. I don't like his DC time because he is so tired when I pick him up at 4 that he sleeps until 5:30-6.. eats supper takes a bath and starts getting ready for bed again. I feel like I never get to see him. I would rather him not take that late nap but he needs it!
Ds only takes 2-3 naps at daycare, usually 30 minutes each, sometimes as long as 45 minutes. I've asked his teachers if they think he naps enough and they've said that his napping is very typical for the babies in that room. He naps about the same at home on weekends unless we're out running errands and he's in his carseat - he'll nap in that for a couple hours no problem.
