Babies: 6 - 9 Months

tips to get LO to sleep later in the morning....??

DD goes to bed between 6-8pm. usually around 7. She wakes up between 5-6, but then goes back down for a nap around 7 or 8. She eats, plays a bit, then gets tired.

I wanted to start play group, starts at 9, but this is not going to work for DD. If I could just get her to sleep a bit later..........

If I can't, oh well, but thought I would see if you ladies have any tips....

thanks!

  • DD was waking up at around 7am for a while and I just kept leaving her in her crib for an extra 15 minutes every few days and now she sleeps t'ill 8:30am. If she wakes up earlier, I will go get her at 8am but not any earlier unless she's freaking out but usually she's just talking happily in her crib.

  • try putting her to sleep about 15/20 minutes later each night & see if that helps her sleep in a little more... good luck!

First off, I'm totally in the same boat as the OP. My son wakes up around 7:30 and then takes a nap at 9, not a good time if we want to do play dates.

My question on this post is, does your daughter not get tired at the same time, even if she's talking happily in her crib? If I hear my son talking in his crib at 7:30, even if I don't get him until 7:45 he's still tired at 9.

  • I leave DD in her crib any where from 15-45 mins after she wakes..... and unfortunately has not made her wake up time later :-(

Maybe I will try putting her to bed later. The few times she has gone to bed late because of travel or out at dinner, she has still woken up the same time. so wondering if a gradual shift in her bed time will make a difference.......
