The video said the medicine (also used to fight cancer, which is what it was prescribed for) was for another women with the same last name. Apparently neither the pharmacist nor the girl herself thought to check the name on the label.
We use the same pharmacy as my in-laws and the first few times we went there there as confusion over whose prescriptions we were picking up. Now we're just careful to read the bottle to make sure we're actually paying for and picking up our own prescriptions.

Yeah I mean I KNOW how it happened but the pharmacist should be doing her job and see that the names, birthdays, etc. do not match up. It is an error that shouldn't happen. Ever.
Wow, that is sad. My home health nurse and pharmacist always stress to me the importance of double checking all the information on anything they send me before I use it for that exact reason. They deal with a lot of cancer patients, etc. so it's not unimaginable that I could be sent the wrong medications/supplies on accident. I'm so glad I always make it a habit to double check all that the information on my meds and supplies has my info on it and is the correct drug name/dosage information.
