I am new to this whole IVF thing...and found out i will only be able to transfer 1 embryo due to my very small uterus. they dont want to risk the "twin factor". I know my percentages decrease with just putting one in...but i would love to hear any success stories of it happening with just one embryo on the first attempt.
thanks so much!
Re: xp: success stories of transfering only 1 embryo on your first IVF cycle
Ours wasn't our first attempt, but that's only because our prior attempts were (1) a successful twin pregnancy that ended due to preterm labor at 23 weeks (so not related to IVF, etc. but possibly relevant to your concerns about twins) and (2) a failed single transfer FET, but the embryo that we thawed and transferred was sub par to begin with and was only even frozen as a hail mary.
We did another fresh cycle and transferred one blast and the result is in my siggy. Best of luck!
Jaime - I didn't get to post this to you last night. I don't really have a success story, however, I'll tell it to you anyway.
We only transferred 1 embryo in my very first IVF (oh so long ago) because that's all we had by transfer day. And, I did get pregnant! Unfortunately, it was ectopic, so, not a success, but, I did get pregnant with one embryo.
It's all about the embryo. Yes, odds are reduced, but, still, if it's the right embryo, then your chances are still good!
