Success after IF

IVF Question

Don't know if this is the right board or not to post, but I was able to get my insurance company to cover 1 IVF treatment.  IVF is excluded in the policy.  Question is how many of you or do you know how easily it is for the IVF to take?  I've had 2 ectopic pregnancies so they just need to get it in the right spot!

Re: IVF Question

  • It depends on the different factors related to your infertility diagnosis. Some people get pregnant on their 1st attempt & some get pregnant after multiple attempts. We got pregnant after IVF w/ICSI attempt #1

  • There is never a guarantee. You should check with your individual clinic to see what their success rates are for your particular case as well overall. My chance for success based on Dx and age were only 30 percent, it took 3 attempts.

After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • I wonder if you could participate in a shared risk program where you pay once but can get multiple IVF's if the first doesn't take??

You can not use shared risk with insurance coverage. The insurance companies will not allow it (at least in my neck of the woods)
