Recommend your (frontal) baby carrier

I am looking for something reasonably priced that I can use while doing chores around the house and possibly some walking.  Thanks!

  • I used the Peanut Shell.  Not sure if it is considered reasonably priced or not.  You can find them new between $40-$60.  My ds would just sleep while in it.  It took a little to get used to for me.  I found it a little difficult to get him in and out of it by myself, but if I used it more, it probably wouldn't have been a problem.

  • For around the house, you might like a wrap like the Moby. Or better yet you can make one for really cheap. Very comfy for doing chores. I dont use my wrap very often because its a little cumbersome to put on when we are out and about. My personal favorite is my Babyhawk Mei Tai which was about $80. DS and I both dont like slings.

  • I'm using the front carrier by Belle.  I bought it on sale at Nordstrom.com for $60, but I think it retails for $90 usually.  (I just tried to past a link to it, but the Nest won't let me in Firefox...just google "Belle Front Carrier")

I like it, and thought it was worth the extra cash, b/c he can ride facing in or out on my front or back, depending on how old he is.  Also, it's a lot more ergonomically comfortable (I have bad shoulders - the Bjorn about killed me).

  • IDK if you consider this reasonable, but I have the Baby Bjorn and it was $80 at Target.  Both DS and I love it.  When he was younger and facing in, he would fall asleep in it right away, which made it easy for me to get a few chores done.  Now we use it with him facing out and he enjoys looking around.  We will be able to use it for a long time and it is easy for me to get him in and out of by myself.
  • I also really like the Baby Bjorn.
