My mom pointed it out last Friday. Eli has about a pea sized lump that seems to move around under the skin on his skull just behind his left ear. I called the ped. and they said not to worry if he is asymptomatic and just to ask when I go in for our 4 month appt on Valentines Day. Of course I am worrying....does anyone's child have something like this or is this something totally weird?

Reed has one on his neck. He has had it since infancy and as long as it doesn't get to be bigger than 1cm diameter, it is normal according to our pedi. Reed's a lymph node apparently. He used to have them all over the back of his head. All of them are gone down now except the one on his neck.

DD doesn't, but I have a couple of them actually. My dad is a doctor and has felt them and declared them normal. I actually went in for a surgical consult because a swollen lymph node showed up when I had a thyroid scan done. He told me that it was normal and not to worry unless it changes in size, shape, etc.
So I'm sure it's normal on him as well

Jax had one also, I noticed it at a few weeks and freaked out a bit before I realized it was a lymph node.
I have one also that has never gone away in the same spot!
Daycare is SO exhausting!

ditto..our pedi said it was a swollen lymph node ...we notice it more when she is sick ..that is when it gets swollen from working hard at fighting the illness...we just get it checked at every appointment because I am a worrier too!
Yep, my son has one too. It comes and goes and is more obvious when he is getting teeth or sick.
It's probably a lymph node.
