Any correlation? My lean LO needs to gain weight. We were finally given the go ahead to switch to Cow's Milk. Anyone notice weight gain with this addition. Wondering how much it will help? TIA.
We also need LO to gain weight but LO will not drink more than a few sips at a time. We've tried everything - warm, cold, flavored, fancy cups, etc. Nothing. Good Luck!
I don't know if I can attribute it purely to switching to cow's milk, but my LO did jump from the 25th percentile at her 9 month appt. to the 35th at her 12 month. (I was doing 1/2 breastmilk, 1/2 whole milk at 11.5 months and then 100% whole milk at 12 months+.)
We have a thin little guy and would love to pack a couple pounds on him but he doesn't like cow's milk very much. We mix it 50/50 with Kefir for now and he drinks about 5 ounces a day at most. He likes water more and still nurses frequently.
Our pedi recommended giving LO cow's milk since he's between 10 and 25th percentile for weight. He's still BFing 3x a day. He doesn't like the cow's milk and I'm fine with not giving it to him. I've been giving him whole milk yogurt and some string cheese instead.
Re: Switching to Cow's Milk/Weight Gain?
So you are saying that weight gain was due to the Cow's Milk alone? That's great!
