What are your birth control plans for after this baby is born?
I really liked NOT being on the pill, and since it turns out I wasn't ovulating on my own even after stopping (Clomid worked for me), there's part of me that feels like I don't really need to do anything. But the rest of me knows that's dumb and asking for trouble.

Re: If you needed help from an RE to conceive...
If you're not prepared for #2, then I wouldn't risk going completely without. I've seen too many "surprise miracle" tickers!
I've got PCOS so I plan to meet with my RE very soon to find out what the best plan is for me. I'm guessing the pill + met since we want more sooner rather then later.
LO#1 - 19 cycles, 3 IUIs, 1 m/c, gonal-f, ganirelix, ovidrel, progesterone
Totally worth the wait!

We've been having the same debate over here. There's a big (possibly bitter) part of me that wants to throw a temper tantrum when people bring up birth control because it took us over 2 years to conceive Lena (see siggy). I also have a friend that had failed IVFs and all sorts of IF issues getting pregnant with #1 and now she got the surprise of her life and is pregnant with #2 the "old fashioned" way.
We'll probably use condoms for awhile until I can start charting again, then we'll use NFP.
It took us a while to conceive and we had 5 IUI and clomid before it finally happened on our 'break' cycle. The topic of birth control has been brought up a lot in our family. DH wants to have baby #2 within a year or so, but I think it's too soon. We both don't want to have any birth control that alters my ovulation since it took us so long to get it regular before. Also, I have stage IV endo and have one ovary and fallopian tube so pregnancy is hard for us anyway. I think the only option for us would be condoms or and IUD. I am worried about the IUD scaring my uterus. In conclusion, I don't really have an answer but I will watch this thread hoping someone else does.
I think I may go back on the pill...not really wanting to, but it may be the best option for us.
We were thinking condoms, but DH said he didn't want to use them.
I was anovulatory before my DS. I EBFd after he was born so it took a while before I got AF again, once I did I started having regular cycles. We used condoms while we were avoiding and amazingly got pregnant again on our first cycle trying. So even if you had ovulation issues before, they can be "fixed" by pregnancy.
After this pregnancy, I am thinking of Mirena. We think we are done with 2 but not ready to do anything permanent yet. I dont want to go back on the pill for the same reasons as you so I think Mirena will be my best option.
Just as an aside, a friend of mine got pregnant TWICE without ever getting AF between kids. So dont count on BFing as birth control.
