Cloth Diapering

Can't figure out leaking issues!

I have been having leaks constantly with my girls. It is only leaking through the legs, and I have tried making it tighter, but then it leaves really bad red marks on their legs.

They leak with both my Kawaiis and FBs. I am guessing user error, but I am just tired of changing clothes every time! I change them every 2-3 hours.

Do you think maybe I need to add another insert? What is the deal?

  • Sometimes. Not all the time, though.

  • What are you stuffing it with? It could be that the insert is too big and you can't get a good fit. Or it could just be that those brands don't fit your babies well and you need to try something else.

I use the microfiber insert that it came with.

I guess I will mess around with the settings again to see if I can fix the fit. If not, on to a new diaper!

    Thanks!

  • FB's always leaked for me in the legs. The inner is too repellent and it just slides out the sides before it has time to soak through to the soaker. A couple of times I added a bamboo insert on top of the inner to have a first line of defense but it totally defeated the purpose. BG's have a different material inner that works better for me when I use pockets.
  • Do you have the rise snapped down? You might need to unsnap it all so the insert can lay flat. We actually unsnapped our bgs all of the way when dd was about 6 months old. The rise was pretty high, but I could put 2 inserts in that way without gapping in the legs.

I haven't tried letting it all the way out yet. I will go through and unsnap them and see if that helps.

    Thanks again, everybody!
