any success on meds alone?

We finally had success with IUI #5 with a combo of Lupron, Clomid and Pregnyl

It turned out my prog was rising too soon thus causing the infertility.  The Lupron was supposed to suppress that.  

That being said, wouldn't it make sense that I could potentially get pg with the meds alone?  Would the IUI be necessary?   I get that it will increase the odds but also increases the cost exponentially. 

Calling the doc but wanted to see if there were any success stories or other words of wisdom.  Thx!
