Questions for those with 4 mo. olds...

DD will be 4 mo. on Friday...I'm wondering...for those of you with a 4 mo. olds:

How long does your LO nap?

How many naps do they take in a typical day?

How long do they go between feedings (if breastfed or fed breast milk)?

How much are they eating (if breastfed or fed breast milk)?

We do a version of the EASY method and the author suggests that at 4 mo. they should be on a 4 hour routine.  E stays up anywhere from 1.5-2 hrs. but only naps an hour...1.5 if I'm lucky.  So that means we are still on a 3 hour routine.  Also, she is EBF, and not 100% how much she's actually getting, but I'm guessing about 6 oz. at a time.  I'll add that she's gaining weight and is a happy, healthy baby, and I know every baby is different...I'm just curious as to what other babies this age are doing!

TIA!

My LO doesn't nap very much. A couple of hours in the morning, and a couple of hours in the afternoon (if we're lucky), scattered and broken up most of the time.

He will only go for 2 hours w/o eating. He is FF and eats 4-6 oz every 2 hours; he eats 8 oz for his first feeding of the day.

How long does your LO nap? She hasn't been lately. Hello 4 month wakeful.

How many naps do they take in a typical day? See above answer.

How long do they go between feedings (if breastfed or fed breast milk)? She goes about 3 hours or so during the day and STTN.

How much are they eating (if breastfed or fed breast milk)? I EP. She takes 6 oz bottles. I tried giving her 7 ozs yesterday and it was a no-go. She threw up everywhere for hours. She also has oatmeal cereal and a stage 1 container of veggies daily (not together).

It varies for us with her nap schedule.  She typically naps about 1 hr - 1.5 hr after each feeding.  She is feeding every 3-4 hrs. Sometimes, however, her naps are only about 1/2 hour and she wakes up happy and content.  She takes between 3 and four naps a day. She is Formula fed and is taking between 6 - 8 oz for each feeding.

We are still on a 3 hour schedule during the day too. My guys take two one-hour naps and a two hour nap, they sleep 11-12 hours a night uninterrupted. Bedtime is at 6:30. they are FF. They really can't handle being awake more than 1.2 to 2 hours either.

We don't really follow a schedule.  I EBF on demand and he eats 6-7 times in a 24 hour period and is usually on an eat-play-sleep routine during the day.  Lately he takes 3 hour-ish long naps a day and has anywhere from 1.5-3 hours of awake time between naps.

whoa!!! that would be so nice if my LO did that!!! but i'll take what i'm getting, lol.

thanks for all the answers...its good to see my LO is so similar to all of yours!!

I got the book 12 hours sleep by 12 weeks, and it is amazing.  My DD is EBF eats every day at 9 am, 1pm, 5 pm, and 9 pm, and sleeps from 9:30pm until 9:00am.   She naps from about 11am - 12pm and again from 3-4:30.  She usually also snoozes a little around our dinner time (from around 7-8) and that doesn't keep her from sleeping well at night.  I highly recommend the book.  I cleared it with my pedi, and my DD is thriving on the routine.  The book went along with all of my instincts as a mother - no CIO or forcing a schedule.  You just slowly work towards spreading out feedings with distractions, and it is amazing how the schedule fell into place.  My friend recommended it to me and said it also worked like a charm for 5 of her other friends.

We are also kind of on the EASY method and while DS is still only 3+ months, we are still on a 2+ hour routine!

He is awake about 1-1.5 hours and then sleeps for 35-45 minutes.

He is breastfed, so I can't be sure how much he eats... although he takes anywhere from 3-4 ounces from a bottle when he gets one (bm or formula).
