Do the homemade baby legs work okay?

My cousin's wife is pregnant, new to the country, and they don't have much, so I'm putting together a big gift for them.  

Has anyone had success with the homemade baby legs that are made from knee socks?  Or are they big and droopy?

    The homemade kind are the only ones that my daughter has ever worn, so I can't really compare... but I can tell you that we LOVE them and she wears them ALL THE TIME!  I think they work great!  HTH

    I found the homemade ones to fit DS better than the store bought ones at first.  They fit tighter on his skinny little legs.  Not sure if I just happened to pick tighter fitting socks, but they worked great for us.
