Success after IF

how long from cruising to walking?

DS just started pulling up on everything and now he started walking around while hanging on furniture or going from one piece of furniture to another.  How long was it from this cruising to independent walking?

Seems WAY too early for this (he'll be 9mos next week) slow down little boy!

Re: how long from cruising to walking?

  • Ha, ha DS has been cruising now for 3 months... He just won't let go although I can hold onto his hood and he could walk, he just still needs that security, I guess. SomeOne told me boys took longer then girls but I am not sure that holds any weight.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

  • Hayden started cruising around 10 months and was an expert at it by 11 months. He took his first steps right at 13 months and full out walking at 14 1/2 months.

  • My boys have been cruising since about 8 months and still aren't walking.  They started to stand independently here and there, but no steps yet.  You are safe for a little while longer, I think!

  • DD started cruising around 8.5mos, taking occasional independent steps if we stood her up around 9.5mos, could walk across a room and stand up on her own at 10mos, and was walking fulltime by 10.5mos.

  • My little girl has been cruising for longer than she's been crawling!  I think she started crawling at around 9 mos. and cruising for a little before that.  She's not walking independently yet!

  • A long time - maybe 2.5 months between cruising and walking.

DS started cruising around 7.5 months, then took his first independent steps at 10 months.  Now, at 10 months 3 weeks, he's already pretty fearless :)

  • DS started cruising right around crawling (7 1/2 months or so) and he started walking a few weeks after his first birthday. He is still half walking and half crawling in terms of getting around.
