ugh, I just screwed up

Henry is sick again and I am so freaking tired. Neither one of us slept at all last night. I took him to the pedi today where he tested negative for flu...we both (pedi and me) think he has RSV again, but we didn't test because she said there's no point. Treatment (or lack of) is the same no matter what.

So they gave him a dose of ibuprofen at about 2:30pm (he's been running a fever all day) and she told me to rotate with Tylenol. I didn't give him another dose until right before bedtime a few minutes ago...except I gave him ANOTHER freaking dose of Motrin. Not Tylenol. I just realized my mistake after we put him down.

It's been 4 1/2 hrs since his last dose and they're suppoesd to be every six hours. Someone please tell me this is ok, or do I need to call the pedi?

    You're ok. He'll be fine. You don't need to do anything special. Its nearly time for a dose and its not like you're shoving 3x the req'ed amount in half the time....he'll be just fine.

    I am pretty sure it is fine.

    When Nolan was teething (I think he was about 8 months old at the time) I gave him a full dose of Tylenol and then 2 minutes later my DH gave him a full dose of Tylenol, not knowing that I had just given him some. We called the pedi, who told us to call posion control. Poison control assured us that it was no big deal and he was fine. Just not to give him another dose for at least 4 hours.

    If you are really nervous call poison control, but I think you should be fine, it was only an hour and a half early.

    Dont worry.  It is not a big deal.  I would just try to skip Ibuprofen until morning.
