S/O the first job post

You ladies are sure making me feel old.  Most of the answers in that post talk about what the minimum wage was in the mid 1990s.  My first year working at the shoe store was 1986.  So, that basically means that while I was slaving away putting shoes on old ladies' feet some of you guys weren't even yet in the first grade!

Mine wasn't 86 but, 88-- junior year.  I'm pretty sure, the more I think of it that minimum wage at the time was $4.25, not the $4.75 I mentioned....ugh.

Mine would be 1986, too, when I was a junior in high school, at a clothing store.  But, earlier than that, I worked in the office of my temple a few hours a week when I was about 14, probably 1983/1984.  Some girls here might not have even been born yet!
