We are expecting out little boy in the next 5 wks. We would like to have something to dress him in. Do you have any ideas where to get an outfit that small?
Just wanted to let you know I'm sending you lots of thoughts and prayers for your little guy. As for outfits, it depends on the NICU. We weren't allowed to put them in outfits until they were off the vent and had PICC line removed. When you do need them - Carters makes a cute preemie line. They dont have a large amount, but we had 2 of every outfit, and it lasted us their entire NICU stay. Good Luck Keep us updated!!

Friends bought us a couple outfits from Ava's Baby (www.avababys.com) and they are the hit of the NICU - the nurses tell each other about the cool outfits Kevin wears. They are made to accommodate the lines coming off of him and they velcro - much easier than snaps and zippers are not allowed. He's almost 3 1/2 lbs now and the micro outfits still work. Like the others said, he wasn't dressed until the PICC line was out.
And anything I buy I avoid closed bottoms (or I have my mom open them up and reseam them so that the outfits don't close around his feet. He still has a pulse ox meter on his foot so the outfits need to work around it.
I just read your blog too, and I'm sending lots of prayers to you and Mason.
I never ordered super small clothes for my son, since like others mentioned, he wasn't allowed to wear them until his PICC line came out and he was much larger. However, some of the sites mentioned already were ones I looked at when I considered buying some early.
Thank you for sharing your story and best of luck to you.

You probably won"t be able to dress him for a while - we could only start dressing Judith once her PICC line was removed & she was off of other supports (like the cannula). I had IUGR with the pre-e, so she was (and still is) pretty small. We used regular preemie outfits, and they were huge at first but she grew into them. She's still able to wear all but 2 of her preemie outfits (outgrew 2 adorable cotton sleepers), and we started putting her in some newborn sizes at the end of her NICU stay. So you should be ok getting regular preemie clothes, & your LO will grow into them! HTH. 1ht
this. i think preemie outfits are made to fit babies 3-5# (or maybe 4-6?). when mine first started wearing them they were big, but not too bad.
preemiestore.com the clothes will fit plus most of them velcro so you can get the wires in and out and they are easy to get on and off even if the baby is in the isolette.
I shopped at Carters and online at avababys.com & the preemie store and it's a preemie thing to find clothes for my daughter when she was in the 1-3lbs category. There are plenty of NICU friendly clothes available, and others for dress up or for coming home. Good luck!

My favorite micro preemie outfits came from early bird which is an australian company.

These are what we used for our little girl. They were the only ones that weren't huge on her.
I read your blog and your family is in my prayers.
Check out this link. I considered using them when DS was a preemie but didn't order.

I did order from here and although they are expensive they are the only thing that fit the girls for their Christmas photos!
