Did your baby's cord bleed when it fell off?

When I went to change DS this morning, I noticed that his cord is just hanging by a thread. The area where it has already fallen off has a bit of blood but doesn't seem to be actively bleeding and isn't oozing at all. Normal? I can't remember from when DD lost hers!

    Yes, its normal. :) Maverick's looked like old dried up blood. When I asked the pedi he said it was totally normal.

    Yes, there was a bit of darkish, half-dried blood on her belly button. It rubbed off on her onesies for a while but after a couple baths (we didn't rub it or anything) the blood was gone.

    DD's didn't bleed, but a couple days later it was oozing but just for that one day.

    BFP #1 7/31/09 - m/c 8/22/09

    BFP #2 4/15/10 - DD born 12/31/10

    TTC #2 since July 2012

    BFP #3 9/24/12 - m/c 10/15/12

    Dx PCOS/LPD 5/2013 - Rx Metformin (1500mg) and GF diet

    BFP #4 6/10/13 - CP 6/12/13

    8/2013 Rx for low dose Naltrexone

    9/2013 DH's SA showed low motility/morph/viability

    10/2013 Lap removed multiple areas of scar tissue adhesions and opened blocked tube.

    BFP #5 1/24/2014 - EDD 10/3/2014

    This could be it! Grow baby!

    Yes, it bled a little bit off and on for a few days. Never a lot.  DD actually yanked hers off a bit early.  It freaked me out, but the pedi said it was fine as long as there wasn't a lot of blood.

    Yup. There was a small amount of blood.  Some of it got on his clothes for a day or two.  It was never a lot of blood, but we would notice some dark dried blood around his belly button.

    When DD's started to fall off, I found a little spot of blood on her onesie. So sounds normal to me.

    Yes, they bleed for a few days after it falls off.  You will see drops of blood in his clothes from the belly button but is totally  normal. Do not wash it, or clean it with wipes or anything. Let it be. After 4 days approx, when u bath him/her for the first time, it will finally look like a normal belly button with no blood anymore. :)
