Fleece liners

I know I have seen this asked a bunch of times, but I have never really had a huge desire to use fleece liners too often to bother reading those posts. Anyhow, my DS just started eating solids and he happened to be in a fitted with fleece liner on top (the only time I use the liners). I ended up dunking and swishing just the liner because I don't have sprayer yet. It was SO easy and not as gross as I thought it would be, because I didn't have toilet water logged diaper. Anyhow, I think I am going to use fleece liners during this weird "not solid poop" stage. 

So, to make this ridiculously long post shorter, what's the different between fleece liner fleece and fleece cover fleece? I have this thin cheapo IKEA blanket that I just cut into fleece liners, because I only have 10 that came along with some used diapers. Will this just cause my DS' pee to run off the diaper or will it go through? I know I can just experiment, but if this does run off, what kind of fleece do I need?
