I just read where pampers dry max is causing chemical burns on babies when they pee. This to me is scary. I remember years ago withmy first two that I was constantly spending tons and tons on diapers. We need to find another solution. Until this morning I really didnt know much about them and now Im just confused. There is so many options.
I found a website called green mountian diapers and browsed for 3 hours. I know its still really early to be planning, but I want to start stocking up.
What are your favorite brands or companies to use? Do you like the fitted with snaps or the plain kind with pins. Im really new to the idea of cloth diapers. Im a stay at home mom and thought maybe this could work the third time around.
How many to you need to have on hand? Wipes?Covers?
Re: Wondering is cloth is the way to go the 3rd time around?

Good luck! If you are looking for an economical route I would start looking into covers and prefolds or other inserts. You can also buy a lot of diapers gently used on craigslist, ebay, diaperswappers, and spots. Another option would be to do a trial package from jillian's drawers or something similar from another place.
Some of my favorites are the flip system, bumgenius 4.0 pockets, and grovia all in two's. When we started CDing about a month and a half ago I spent a TON of time researching everything and a lot of time lurking on this board too. That really helped.
Hey! I'm new to this as well. This is a tool made by a bumpie and contributed to my tons of posters. It really helped me! Also, I heard that once baby starts w/ solids, that the flushable liners are key. just a thought! Best of luck

I'm new to CDing too and will add my 2 cents. I started with pockets (bumGenius, Fuzzibunz,Blueberry) and initially liked the aplix closer better than the snaps. My son is 14 months and its hard to do the snaps with him moving around so much. But, I am finding now that I actually get a better fit with the snaps and I am liking them more.
I think whatever route you go, just get a few because you may decide you actually don't love them as much. I started with BGs and have about 10, only to find out that I like Blueberry pockets A LOT more.
You can re-sell them when you are done (if this is your last baby). I started CDing when DS was 9 months old. I wish I started sooner. I LOVE it....and I know he does too. I actually enjoy doing diaper laundry. Weird.
