After a week spent traveling with my mother and using disposables, boy am I glad to be home with my piles of fresh, clean diapers just waiting for me!
Here's a quick rundown of my week in paper diapers:
* Brought about 2/3 of the remaining "stash" of Size 1 with me (~70 diapers) over my mother's protestations. We discovered about 4 hours into trip that she'd definitely outgrown them! Ran out and bought 60 S2. Oops. (and ca-ching -- there went $25)
* I never feel like I get a good fit with disposables. They always seemed to sag around her waist.
* The first few days, the smell was AWFUL. Then it went away. I often wondered how disposable users weren't knocked sideways from the horrific stench, but apparently you get used to it?
* We had one blowout. It blew out the leg, not up the back.
* But speaking of the back, why does it always fold down like that? Also, her butt looked so small -- she did fit into outfits she doesn't usually fit in, though. And I do have to admit the cloth diapers look so much bulkier now!
* No rash, thank goodness, but the crinkly sound drove me insane!
So, not as bad as I expected, and I"m glad I got used to that smell!
Re: Glad to Be Back in Cloth
DD can't wear her 12-18 month skinny jeans with cloth
But I am still so glad that we switched! I will definitely plan better with future children... lots of stretchy clothes, lol!
