PSA: Coin Star

So, coin star is a rip off if you want to cash in your coins for bills (they charge almost 10%!) . . .but you can cash in your change for gift certificates.  I just brought ours in and got an Amazon gift card.  They also have JCPenney, Lowes and a few others. It's good way to get some cash to splurge on baby!

DH and I do it together about once a year while watching a movie. The money goes straight into our Vacation savings account. It's amazing how much change adds up!

Right now all our change goes into DS Cow bank....he loves to put it in there.
Then we bring it into the bank and put into his savings account :O)

The bank doesn't charge coin counting if you have an account there.

Most grocery stores have the machines. 

Our bank charges if it's loose. . . I could roll it, but putting it in the machine is so much quicker!

That is such crap!  I worked at a national bank and we ran change for people all.the.time.  It was actually more of a PITA if they wrapped it b/c we had to unwrap it all and run it through the machine.

the banks in our area will do it if you have an account..but they send it out so it takes 3 days and they will only do a direct deposit.  Blah!  Normally I want to take change in to get bills not put into our everyday account.

DH and I saved our change for a year and a half once and was able to buy a big screen TV flat out...I LOVE rolling change, there is something relaxing about it...
