What is the fabric you prefer to use against baby's skin? I am having a little trouble finding suitable fabrics locally and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions as to what you use.

  • If you're looking to buy locally...

    - Suedecloth (Alova suedecloth from Joann's, or butter suedecloth from Hancock Fabrics)

    - Crushed panne (Joann's, Hancock Fabrics)

    - Flannel (any fabric store, or you can use receiving blankets, flannel sheets, etc.)

    - Jersey cotton (any fabric store, or you can use t-shirts, sheets, etc.)

  • I've used flannel and cotton velour with good results. I get my cotton velour at verybaby.com. Pretty much you want something that will retain its softness and not chafe when wet.

  • Thank you ladies. I bought flannel. I was afraid it wasn't thick enough.

  • I think you can also use fleece/microfleece.
