Do you still have the rocker/glider in their room as well? We're going to move DD2 into R's room. Everything is up in the air since our house will be on the market, but I feel like we should at least transition R to a big girl bed b/f #2 is here. I hope it's not a rough transition to the big girl bed and a new room and to where-ever we move. Fingers crossed!
We have a convertible crib, but we're leaving it as is for #2. We need a twin bed headboard and dresser and possible some sort of toddler bookshelf. She's got a PB chair that we can move in there. I guess that since we can sit on her bed, it's not like we'll need to the rocker to snuggle with her in? I hope not b/c that has gotta be used for #2.
I've been looking for furniture.....just wondering where the best deals for good quality are? Any suggestions?
Re: Where did you get your toddler's furniture?
We are in the same dilemma. From the few people I have talked too, I am hesitant to spend a bunch of money on good furniture. I don't want to by something expensive for a toddler now instead of for when DD is older and wants a more mature set. That happened to me and I was stuck with a set with hearts on it!
Our plan now is to keep DD in her room (since it is painted pink) and transition her to a big girl bed. We will put a small dresser and nightstand and bookshelf (looking at a line at Target) in there. It is not cheap, but not pricey either.
We are moving the whole nursery into DS room probably in May giving Jocelyn about a month to transition before the baby comes.
We got all our furniture for Isabella's "big girl" room from Ikea. We didn't get the kid furniture but got her items from the regular furniture section. We put a dresser, bookshelf, and chair in her room. She is still in her Dora toddler bed until we think she's ready for her real bed. She also has her table and chair set that she received for Christmas a few years ago. We did go ahead and put a sitting chair in her room so we could read her bedtime story without having to sit on the floor ( I was pregnant with twins at the time).
We are really happy with the pieces we bought from Ikea. Her bookshelf is convertible so it can be laid on horizontal or vertical and we put it horizontal and put a changing pad on top to change her diapers on. Once she's in panties full time, we'll just get rid of the pad and be able to use the top of the bookshelf for storage.
We thought about that, but don't know where to go to get a deal.
