I had a really hard time choosing a crib for DS. I am really picky. I have yet to see something I like more than the crib we have (Munire Essex). So my question is, did you buy a different crib for #2 or do they have matching cribs? If you would like to share, what crib(s) do you have?

Re: Crib question
We have a potterybarn crib for #1 but didn't want to spend that much again so we went with a similar one made by Graco. It was like $230, so cheap compared to potterybarn one! They are both in the same room and to be honest you can barely tell they are different. We figure once #1 is done with a crib we'll move #2 into the "nicer" crib (not that anything is wrong with the Graco one, in fact it's been great).
The pottery barn one is not a 4 in 1 and the Graco is,so when we transition him we will switch cribs and turn it into the toddler bed.
DS got the Bonavita Lifestyle Crib and dresser, and my 2 share a room so we would have liked to get a second one. But it was too expensive, so we ended up getting a similar one from Babies R Us - the Koala Home Taylor crib. We used a 20%off BRU coupon and purchased it during the Massachusetts Tax Free Weekend, so we got a good deal on it.
We waited until DD was about 3 months old to buy a new crib - we were waiting to see if DS would be ready to transition out..and by then, it was clear that he wasn't! Now, he is almost 2, and he is still nowhere near ready to move to a toddler bed.
But if I were you, I would wait until closer to when your baby will be born and then decide if you need a new crib or just a toddler bed. GL!

ours match. It's the babi italia pinehurst in espresso but its discontinued now so we had to look around to see if anyone still had one in stock. it was a PITA but i love that it matches.
My kids do not share a room, but I let my dd keep her crib which is from jcp in chocolate and got her a cream dresser and chester combined with dark knobs and a dark mirror. DD's crib has a bit curvier top and we felt it looked a bit girly.
So for DS he kept the nursery furniture in chocolate. We got a different chocolate crib for him, a bit more masculine, but it still matches his nursery furniture.
I've been trying to decide the same thing myself, but since they will share a room for at least 5-6 years if #2 is a girl, and at least 2-3 if it's a boy, I decided it was best to go with matching convertibles. Sure it's an extra 100-200 but since they'll be together so long, I think it's worth it...
If they were farther apart, or we had an extra room, I'd probably just go cheap...
