That made me uncomfortable

We are pulling Owen out of his current daycare for several reasons - 4 teachers in 4 months, crappy meals, they follow Wake County and close for everything, and they take basically every single holiday and then some (like 4 days at X mas and 3 at NYE).  We found a daycare we love that 2 of our friends use and they have consistency, educational curriculum, etc...  I have been nervous about pulling Owen out and switching, but we visited with him yesterday and he loved it.  I gave notice at his current daycare yesterday to the director and she was fine with it, but the owner cornered DH this morning about why we were pulling him and then she just called me at work to grill me.  I appreciate that you have an interest in my child and would like him to stay, but calling me at my office is to tell me there is a problem or O is sick.  Not that I shouldn't pull him out, offer me a deal, lower tuition and make me feel guilty.  I just think it's really inappropriate and it kind of sealed the deal for us leaving.

Ouch.  That's not acceptable at all.  When we pulled Eli from his center I was worried about something like that, but surprisingly nothing like that happened.  I gave our notice via email, and the director just sent a nice email back saying she was sorry we were leaving and to let her know if there was anything she needed to know.  Which of course we had all sorts of problems there, but it was too late and I'd already tried to tell her before so I just didn't respond.  Overall it was very uneventful and easy to leave.

That's really messed up if they offered to lower your tuition, that would piss me off!  I am so glad you found a new place for him, you are all going to be so much happier.  Hands down the best decision we ever made.

That's crazy!  I could see them asking you why you left in hopes on improving it in the future, but to corner your DH and then calling you at work to grill you - that's completely unacceptable.
