DS has decided that he is too big for a high chair. At daycare he sits at a table and chair with the other kids. He's been fighting the high chair for awhile and flat out refused to sit in it this morning. We gave in (horrible parents) and let him sit as his Bob the Builder table and chair for breakfast this morning. I'm ready to get rid of the high chair and get a booster. I worry that none of them will be tall enough for him to reach the table. What do you have? Do you like it? Does your LO have a hard time reaching the table.
I know they have the kind with tray, but don't know if DS will go for that or not. I'd like him to eat on the table with DH and me. He's a peanut 35% for height.
Also, do I just put a towel under the seat? We have fabric chairs and I don't want them to get ruined. I really want a new dining table, maybe I can talk DH into getting one now.
Re: Please recommend your booster seat
Get a transitional booster seat. They are a little more expensive than your basic seat, but they have the option of using it without the tray and just pulling him up to the table.
Also, to save your chairs, I would put a towel or something similar underneath as well. I think they make plastic covers or sheets or something like that for under highchairs and the like. The plastic would be easier to keep clean.
ihave 2 different ones. i have the small fisher-price healthy care booster its yellow and orange and my daughter uses that one, (my daughter is tiny she is at the perfect height with this one) and i have the fisher-price space saver high chair and my son uses that one. this space saver is great, its adjustable to the height of your table it has three heights! ill send you a link of it.

We don't have a traditional high chair at all. We use the Fisher Price Health Care booster:
It has 3 height settings so you don't have to use the tray and can put your DS right up to the table, but it still has the strap to secure him.
My DD is in a regular booster (the Cooshie booster) but she wasn't ready for that until the end of the summer!
We have this foam one that is easy to carry around... i forget what it's called... let me check amazon real quick...
This one!

Very easy to bring everywhere, sticks well to booth type seats and Isaiah loves to sit in it!
We have the space saver, too, which I just lowered so he can sit at the table without the tray. It converts to a booster as well.
Depending on your table, you could get one of those chairs that clamps onto the table (saving your chairs). My table has a weird lip on it so it doesn't work here. Or they have mats to put under car seats to avoid damaging your car. I bet it would work on a dining room chair.
You put your not even 1 year old in a booster with no straps?
i love my space saver best 55 bucks i ever spent! and i agree with the car seat pad i have one on my dinning room chair as well!
