Wake Med Cary OB recs please

Aetna and Rex are officially done and to pay out of network for anything at Rex is astronomical.  I need to switch all my dr's and while most of them I see once a year and have no real 'relationship' with (like dermatologist, optholmologist, etc...), I really like my OB and saw them so much with O and after that it's hard to imagine going somewhere else.  If anyone has any idea who delivers at WMCary, that would be awesome.  Thanks!

  • I used to go to Triangle OBGYN (right across from Western Wake in Cary) and saw Dr. Grana. She was awesome. If we didn't move and plan to deliver at Rex I would have stayed there.

  • And, I would recommend to stay away from Triangle OB/GYN.  They did not recognize that I still had pre-e after I delivered my son (was induced for pre-e) and discharged me while my BP was 187/100.  An hour and a half after being home I was back in the ER.  I was given all the warning signs, and kept telling them what I was feeling, and they (Dr. Grana) actually told me that I was just scared and didn't want to be at home with a newborn.  I ended up also being re-hospitalized twice for severe kidney infections.  No, I wasn't sick at all, I just didn't want to be at home with a newborn.  I didn't switch practices right after that.  My son was almost 7 months old and I had stopped BFing at 6 months.  My GP wouldn't see me for what I thought was PPD - they said I needed to see my OB/GYN.  So, I call my OB/GYN and they tell me there was no way it could be "POST-PARTUM" depression because it was more than 6 weeks.  After I am crying hysterically on the phone for someone to help me and finally get an appointment and some meds - I have found a new practice.  I'm not going to recommend my new practice cause I'm not totally digging her yet - just a warning about Triangle OB/GYN.

  • I highly, HIGHLY recommend Brannon, OBGYN! DD1's pregnancy was not easy and included a gall bladder removal at 29 weeks gestation that he helped me and DH through (and fairly comfortably). I was induced at 36w6d with her due to low fluid levels and he was "extra aggressive" (after asking first) in trying to break my water to avoid C-section, used saline to cushion DD1 during contractions since she was in slight distress, and in the end everyone came out well. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor through all of that! He's usually in a hurry during office visits, but answers questions if you have them.

  • I go to Triangle OBGYN and adore, adore, adore Dr. V. He delivered my daughter and he was AMAZING. It was a complicated birth, but he was just incredible and calm and kind. All the L&D nurses said we were lucky to have him, that they all think he is the best doctor that delivers at that hospital. I would certainly attest to that!

  • I go to Physicians for Women in Cary, and highly recommend them. It's a smaller practice so it seems like you get a little more personalized attention. There are only two doctors so you pretty much know who is going to be delivering your baby. Dr. Seidel is my primary OB, and he is awesome. He has a great sense of humor and really puts you at ease. The other doctor - Sheshadri - is very nice is as well but he is a little more reserved. They just moved to a new office which is really nice, too and it's right across from the hospital. I loved delivering at WakeMed Cary, too. I had a great experience.
