Success after IF

Jake surpised me with a word...

Tonight I gave him some apple slices to munch on before dinner was served and as I was cutting it up for him, he said "apple". I have NOT taught him the word at all, as we rarely have apples in the house. (I'm just now feeling ok with giving them to him, as the choking hazard aspect freaks me out!) So I guess he learned "apple" at day care, because he said it at least 10 times, clear as day! I woul dlike for them to teach him the alphabet now!

  • Way to go Jake!! DD did the same thing to me with a few words, including apple. It actually made me a little nervous because we weren't giving her actual apples yet (just applesauce) :) Hopefully he'll surprise you with more words very soon!!

  • That was one of Penny's first words too.  She said applesauce tonight and I almost died.

    Go Jake!!!

  • Apple kind of came out of the blue here as well. He  doesn't really like pieces of apple yet but if I give him applesause, he calls it an apple.

  • It is so fun when they learn new words! I keep trying to get DS to repeat the things he knows, because I love hearing him!
