Rhayna BAWLS at preschool pick up because she doesn't get to nap there...

She goes to a class that also has "after care" - the morning is super structured and then lunch and nap happens and the afternoon is much more loose/open play. Its basically a preschool in the AM and a "nicer" daycare in the afternoon. My DD doesn't eat lunch or sleep there (mostly because I won't pay them their hourly rate to feed her bleh food and clearly won't pay for her to nap there! LOL). For the past 2 times, she's BAWLING when the other kids are setting up their chincy mats for nap....bawling because she hasn't a bed there.

Is this just something I should ignore, positively reinforce (just talk about how great of a day it was) and talk about how we should remain positive and appreciative of the times we get to spend with friends?

Note: she's incredibally tired when I pick her up - this is only her 3rd week there and first time away from us on a schedule (she's gone to a drop off play place but never for as long as she goes to school and never twice a week on a schedule).

Doesn't she need the nap?  I would think some of the bawling is because she is tired if she is there well after lunch.

What does she do while the other children are eating and sleeping?

Sorry if I wasn't clear - they eat at noon, then nap.... and I pick her up at 11:50. We go home and eat and then nap.

Well, she is probably just at an age where she wants to conform to what others are doing.  Not sure there is anything you can do except tell her that it's OK not to be like all the other kids
