Moms of 2 (or more)-WDYT?

My major stress right now of this pregnancy is finding childcare for Jocelyn while I am in the hospital. I am praying I can schedule my c/s for Thurs June 2. My parents are going to be out of the country from May 20-June 15th, and my sister who lives 2 hours a way is a teacher and has standardized that week and is not allowed to take any time off.

I had some issues with child care, but I have someone lined up for the day of the actual c/s. The next day (Friday) DH wants to bring Jocelyn to the hospital first thing in the morning to see the baby and then take her home for a nap and then my sister will come in the late afternoon and he'll come back to the hospital alone (my sister will stay the full weekend to watch Jocelyn). Do you think that is a bad idea for Jocelyn to come to the hospital? Should I have someone lined up for Friday as well? I am not sure what to do but it is stressing me out!

  • The girls came to the hospital after  jeremiah was born, but they couldn't actually see him because he was in the NICU.  But, I think it helped them to be able to see me and know that I was ok.  Plus they brough presents to give to Jeremiah and they really enjoyed that.  They were almost 2 (8 days away from being 2) when he was born.  You'll be surprised how much she will miss you and it will be good for her to see you.

  • Ella / Aydin came the day Zachary was born.  They didn't stay long - maybe 20 minutes, but I think it was good for Ella to see Zachary since we kept talking up her being a big sister!  It wasalso  good to see her and I really felt like my family was complete.

  • Camryn came to the hospital when Caylee was born.  I think she came the afternoon/evening of the c-section, not sure about next day and then she was actually there when we got all checked out (only stayed two nights).  Shortly after that was when the whole H1N1 stuff broke out and there was a ban on kids coming.  But no, I don't think there is anything wrong with her coming up to the hospital.

  • Claire was born during the H1N1 scare so Natalie wasn't able to go to the hospital.  We made a video for her to watch that night with DH of me with Claire.  I actually think it was better for Natalie that she didn't come to the hospital.  She would have had a hard time with separation anxiety seeing me there and me not leaving with her.  Plus, with my c/s, I think she would have wanted to crawl all over me which would have been painful at that stage.  I only stayed in the hospital for 2 nights also.  DH came for a short period of  time each day but was home to make dinner and put Natalie to bed.  We don't have family in the area and my parents didn't arrive until the night I got home so our nanny came the day of the c/s (It was a Friday anyways) and the following day to help with Natalie.  Our neighbor would have helped with Natalie if our nanny wasn't available.
