Stupid question for those that dunk/swoosh

I feel like an idiot....but I'm really struggling with the peanut butter type poop!

DH isn't into the idea of using a sprayer (kinda grosses me out too....doesn't it splash?!) and we dont' want to use flushable liners unless we are out because our toilets already back up all the time. We bought some long tongs to use for the popular dunk/swoosh method but it isn't going too well!

If you dunk/swoosh how do you do it? We have just been sticking the whole diaper into the toilet and flushing while we "swoosh".....problem is it takes 2-3 flushes to remove the majority of the poop! Do we have crappy toilets or are we doing something wrong?

Also how to you transfer the diaper to the wet bag?! Once we get the poop off the diaper soaked through and dripping with nasty toilet water. Even with the bag right there it still drips on the floor some. Also since the diaper is so bogged down with water it ALWAYS leaks through the bag (instantly)! I have never had a problem with my wetbags leaking....but that is a lot of water to handle!

DD still poops about 3-4X a day and I'm getting fustrated! Any insight into making this easier or what I am doing wrong?! I miss the EBF days.......

I use a rubber spatula that has been designated as the poop spatula and kept by the plunger and toilet brush.  Works like a charm!

This. Well, not yet. I still need to go and buy one, but this is what I plan to use.

Eh, I fold the poopy diaper in half and wait an hour or so for it to harden and then it peels right off into the toilet. For any dunking I just wipe it in the bowl. I keep a grocery bag in the bathroom for when its wet but she only poops at home every couple days.  I would keep either a wetbag or diaper pail in the bathroom as a more permanent option.

This. DS's poop is JUST now getting ploppable, after nearly 6 months on solids. The spatula and I are good friends. Dunking/swooshing sounds really gross.

I just let the diaper sit in there until I remember about it, and then I flush while swooshing. It gets the majority of the poop off.

I often bring the diaper pail into the bathroom to transfer the diaper. No big deal.

I've never had a problem getting them clean using this method.

I have done the dunk and swish method and the spatula method.  Both are gross.

For dunk and swish, I have your problems:  not getting the poop out and soping wet, gross diapers getting yuck everywhere.

For spatula:  I get some but not all the poop off with the spatula, but then I have to get the poop off the spatula and into the toilet, which is not an easy task.

Truth is baby poop is gross. 

I have no answers, just comiseration.
