Family Medical Group Fee..... anyone?

Does anyone here go to the Family Medical Group practice? They sent out a letter yesterday implementing a $50 annual fee per person if you want to stay with their practice. CJ sees one of their doctors and I really like him/their location/and have had a good experience. But dude, annual fees suck.

While I dont have any experience with this particular practice, I do know many practices are going to annual fees. With insurance companies reimbursing at lower and lower rates- practices are instituting annual fees to help cover the loss.

My husband's old doctor did this and we switched him to my group - his annual fee is $350, ummmm, no thanks.

We received the same letter. I am in healthcare..it is the wave of the future. Although I don't like it. Every practice will be doing this sooner or later. So if you like your MD..I say pay it!

we got the same letter,and honestly I am pissed.  As if I don't pay enough as it is...now I have to pay you a fee because a doc can't be bothered by taking a few extra minutes to fill out a paper or write a script.
