Cloth Diapering

My Surprise CD Stash Purchase

So I just found on an auction site a GREAT deal for 27 FuzziBunz OneSized in a variety of colors right before the auction ended. Well, guess who placed a quick bid and won them?

I'm so super excited... about DIAPERS?!

I've been talking to DH about doing CD and he's all on board. We started reading and researching brands, styles, types when he finally came to the decision that he liked only 2 brands (we have not tested ourselves) and said we had to use these two if we would be doing them. So next came my desire to look around for cheaper options today to begin slowly gathering a diaper stash when all of a sudden, I found the deal. It was too good to pass up as they were about $15/each when the cheapest I could find is between $19.95-25.95.

So I guess my "slow" gathering our stash just got a fast bump up. Smile

Re: My Surprise CD Stash Purchase

  • That's exciting! Fuzzibunz are pocket diapers actually. :) They require stuffing the pockets but once stuffed, function like an AIO. Did you get the one-size?

Not to put a damper on your excitement, but not all diapers work for everyone which is why a lot of mamas here buy a variety of diapers. I hope they work for you and don't leak like they do on my DD. If for some reason they don't work, you can always sell them to make back a good portion of your money.

  • I agree with StephanieDM on all points! Congrats on the fluffy mail, but I'd only use one or two until you figure out if you like the fit on your kid or not. I hope they work for you- my LO is 50th percentile and we can't use them at all.

  • I agree as well. Actually I bought 24 FB OS when I started cd at 4 months and sold off like 18 of them just because they weren't the perfect fit for us. Also if they are OS you will still want newborn diapers since they won't fit yet. Sorry I hope it doesn't sound like we are raining on your parade. It's a good price and later you can always sell/trade if you don't like them but you might want to get some others just in case.

  • Yeah I figure worse case we'll resell them that's why I'm happy I got a deal now so I won't be stressing over selling less than full price later (if I bought full price).

For newborn: I completely understand and am going to look around for a variety pack for that or mix and match slowly like I had originally planned on doing with these FB or Bummis (he liked those too).

What are you using now? I remember you were trying different things and trying to figure out what works for you.

  • I agree on not putting all your CDing eggs in one basket, but you might be able to use the FBs on your newborn.  My DD2 was 8 lbs at birth and we started using our FB OS a week later.  They were pretty bulky, but they fit.  (She had chubby thighs, which helped).  My BG OS did not fit her until much later.
