Any plans for when you're snowed in?

I'm looking forward to this blizzard they're predicting - it looks so calm, gray and boring outside right now, that I can't imagine it coming, but with all the to-do on the news, it must be on it's way. 

I'm presuming DS#1's preschool will be cancelled tomorrow, so I figure we'll play outside while I clear the driveway, come in, maybe do cookies and hot chocolate, watch TV, play downstairs. Should be fun. Just hope we don't lose power! Got flashlights, extra batteries, candles, etc. just in case. 

I've got plenty of wine too, for once the fun wears off and I'm tired of being snowed-in on my own with 2 small children! lol

We're planning on making cookies too.  The kids are already planning on making forts.  I charged the portable dvd player in case the power goes out.  I wish we could play outside but 3/5ths of the family have an awful upper respiratory infection.

Its snowing now but this is just the small storm before the big storm.  DH & I just got back from grocery shopping.  I'm gonna make some chili & goulash.  Britt is making cupcakes & I'm making cheesecake.

DH & I are planning on painting the living either starting tonight or tomorrow.  Or we will just curl up in the living room watching movies

We have the stuff to make banana bread and blueberry muffins.  I got 2 bottles of wine.  We have hot cocoa.  We won't be snowed in long, they're pretty good about clearing & salting here.  Just a day most likely.

The kids are dying to go outside, but we've only gotten ice so far. They're cutting and glueing right now and going to watch Despicable Me next. I am excited about being snowed in too, I want to get DD's room painted and rearranged now that we have her twin bed in there.

dh wouldnt let me get wine dammit....at least I still have some baileys, kaluaha and vodka and 3 bottles of smirnoff ice.

Big ice storm here. Still have power but there's a decent chance that our power lines will come down tonight (they're already sagging and more ice is on its way.) If that happens we're prepared to be without electricity for a few days. Big pot of vegetable soup simmering away now, stocked up on some canned soups, tuna, bread and sunbutter, ham and turkey, instant oatmeal, tea, hot chocolate, etc.

Also have candles, flashlights, extra batteries, every single blanket and sleeping bag in the house is clean and ready to be used if needed, camping stove with extra fuel, and a radio. Computers, iPods, cell phones, camera batteries, and gameboys all fully charged, lol.

As for ways to pass the time the kids have their Legos, a new chess game for ds, several other board games, some new books for the kids (and a couple new paperbacks for me too), some DVDs, tons of craft supplies and all their other toys. 

I know we have enough activities and enough food for us to be fine for the next week if needed, I'm just concerned about freezing with no heat. Times like this I really wish we had a woodstove or fireplace!

We are snowed in now and will be tomorrow too.  DH is working.

We've played hot wheels, bouncy house, hide n seek, playdoh. We are now having a snack and I'm hoping he'll want to watch a movie.  I keep asking him to go outside, but he won't  - ugh!  I'm out of ideas for tomorrow.  I have a 9am online mtng and I'm afraid DS will be too bored to leave me alone for an hour.  I'm limiting TV today so hopefully he'll watch it when I need office time tomorrow.  I really wish DH could be home!
