Re: Injections....Nervous

  • Don't be!  I did my first one on Saturday night.  I was an hour away from DH that evening so I had to do it myself.  I was so nervous and then afterwards realized that it was the anticipation more than anything that had me freaking.  The shot didn't hurt and I felt like a kid when I texted DH to tell him I did it on my own and was so proud of myself, lol.  You'll do fine!

  • Don't be nervous - follistim is super easy!!  Really didn't hurt at all.  The worst part is the fear of sticking yourself.  You'll see - after you do it you realize it wasn't bad at all.  Good luck!!

  • Dont be nervous! I'm a wimp and I did just fine with them. I did them in the stomach (actually dh gave them). I was on Ganrilex, which didn't hurt at all. I was also on follistim+menopur which, I won't lie, hurt a little as the meds were being injected. But it only hurt for a couple of seconds - literally. I used ice for about 10 before getting the injections and that helped a lot. GL!

We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And HOPE does not dissappoint.

  • I was so nervous and anxious before my first injections too.  The first time is the hardest.  Follistim is a quick and easy, painless injection.  The needle is so thin I don't even feel it!  You'll do great!

  • You'll do great at it! It's a cinch after the first one! More anticipation than anything else. GL!
  • If follistim is anything like gonal-f, it will be easy peasy.  I did my first ever injection a few days ago and I swabbed the area for about 5+ minutes psyching myself up.  No kidding I was even cold sweating.  Then, I just plunged right in and I was shocked that I barely felt it!  People aren't lying when they say it doesn't hurt.

    Good luck!

  • Good luck, the first one is always the hardest. I was so nervous for my first one and it was much easier then I thought it would be.
