Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

pointing

DS is a little over 14 months and has yet to start pointing.  Everything I've read says they should be pointing by 12 months.  I don't know if it's something I should call and ask the pedi about before his 15 month appt or just wait till then.  Or maybe I shouldn't be worried about it at all?

Re: pointing

  • I definitely wouldn't worry - wait until the appointment.  Kids all hit the milestones at different times.  In the meantime, maybe model some pointing for him to get the idea...

  • My (almost) 15 month old doesn't point. I really don't think you should be concerned, especially if he's meeting some of his other milestones.

  • I wouldn't worry about it! I can't remember when DS started pointing consistently, but I definitely remember feeling like he was a late bloomer with it!

  • Don't worry about it.  Just mention it at the 15 month appt if he's still not doing it.
