A little back story: My husband has been out of town since last Sunday and gets home this Friday. We got a little bit of snow last week, which made the front steps slippery and I fell on my way out to go to the store. When I got to the store, I was still kind of covered in snow so the cashier/manager asked what happened and I told him. (The fall was not a big deal.)
Fast forward to this week. We are supposed to get 8-14 inches of snow between tomorrow and Thursday, not unheard of up here just inconvienent when your husband is gone. I was at the store again today and the manager told me that if he drives by after my shift (he knows where I live) and my steps are snowy he plans on shoveling, which I thought was very nice. Then the guy behind me in line (who I don't know but apparently he knew my late FIL) told me he'd swing by to plow. Again, very nice. Then I get home and find two messages, one from a friend who said he would snowblow and one from a friend saying he was planning on plowing. I have never been so popular.
In hindsight, I should have gotten pregnant two years ago. It was a really snowy winter!

The Sand in My Snow Boots
thats so nice. did they even know you are pregnant?
you should feel lucky.
I thought we were close with both of our neighbors and we found out neighbors on both sides of us are expecting too. Both Due in June. I sent them FB messages to congrats and stuff and no response. usually the guys help us out with some yard work but nothing yet this winter. granted one of the guys lives with his gf a few blocks away. Its just so weird how some people hybernate in the winter.
The store manager knew, as well as my friends, but the guy behind me in line didn't know (that I know of anyway). I do feel very lucky to have so many people looking out for me. I haven't been having the easiest pregnancy so far, and the two people who left messages know that, so I think that's why they're being extra nice. (One of them had to drive me to the ER a month ago while my husband was at work, so he is being extra nice to me.)
I definitely get the hybernation thing. The friend who drove me to the ER and his wife are our neighbors, our backyards face each other. In the summer we have dinner or do something several nights a week. Once fall hit, it turned into us seeing them maybe once a month. It's funny how that happens.
