Cloth Diapering

Those who use powdered Tide...

I'm ending my relatioship with RnG. I never liked it and it just doesn't work for us. I have powdered tide (thats what I use for mine and DH's clothes) and wondering how much you use for a load of dipes. I'm going to the Happy Baby Company tomorrow to hopefully find another detergent but in the meantime, I need to do CD laundry tonight. Do you use a teaspoon? tablespoon?

  • I use up to the 1 line on the scoop.

  • Depends on how many diapers you are washing. I use a full scoop, but I wash 2-3 days worth and its a really big load. I have used less and had stink issues. I would try it up to the 1 line first and then go from there.

  • I use 1/4 of the way up to the one line. Any more than that and I have to do a million rinses.

  • I ran out of RnG and while I was waiting to go pick up more, I used powdered Tide for a week or two.  I went up to the first line and after a few days, noticed my diapers were getting sort of crunchy.  When I finally got my RnG, holy suds!!  I rocked a soak with all my diapers and wow, I couldn't believe the buildup of Tide I had.  So, I would suggest under the first line if you're using Tide.  I actually preferred RnG, but we have perfect water and I heard that makes all the difference with RnG.  GL!

  • Ok, thanks ladies. I will start with 1/4 and work my way from there if need be. Appreciate it!!
