anyone have a tripp trapp high chair?

i'm getting it in the grey and am trying to figure out if the cushion is necessary [i know some of the other available accessories are not]. i would think it would be uncomfortable otherwise, not to mention slippery for a baby just learning to sit on his own. i read some online reviews where people said it didn't make a difference, though, so i thought i'd ask.

any advice is appreciated, thanks!

We bought the grey tripp trapp a few months ago for our baby (just born on Sunday).  We ended up deciding against the cushion because of the cost and the reviews.  Too many people said the chair had to be loosened in order to take the cushion on and off.  I think part of the perk of the tripp trapp is the solid surface for the ease of cleaning.   I'm anxious to hear what others say!
