Waddling....

We went on a "family babymoon" last week/weekend.  I noticed while walking around that I waddle already Sad DH actually said something to me about it.  I tried to "walk normal" (I guess? AKA I tried to not waddle) but it was uncomfortable and my feet started to hurt.

I have no bump and I waddle! What's up with that?!?!?!

Re: Waddling....

  • Haha!! I actually noticed that I waddle also!! I'm just going to atrribute it to the fact that my hips are probably getting bigger lol.

  • I noticed the same thing. DH hasn't said anything yet, but I've definitely caught myself waddling. I figured it was from the weight gain.

haha I've noticed that with myself as well! It's not too bad but I definitely feel like I'm walking differently (and I don't have a very noticeable bump, either).

Also, I've found it's getting weird to bend down to pick things up...it's a little more of a struggle now!

LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one with that problem either!

I wish it was warm enough for flip flops already. Tying my shoe=not fun!

  • I'm right there with you guys! No one else has noticed it besides me but when I'm not paying attention I definitely waddle. I partially blame it on my hips starting to hurt and loosen... plus the back pain. Also, I haven't gained any weight yet but I have definitely noticed that when I squat down to pick something up my legs struggle to lift myself back up. Maybe it's because my center of gravity has changed? Or maybe it's because I haven't really been exercising much beyond all the walking I have to do at work. I don't know what it is but I totally understand!
  • Already?! LOL Oh god..I'm screwed...

My goal is to never waddle.I like to think I won't, I work out a lot..will that help?! LOL!!!

  • I'm not, but a woman I worked with totally started waddling before she she had a bump.  It was her 3rd kid.

I struggle with getting things when I have to bed down already.  It is weird.  I just don't bed the same as I used to.

  • I've got a definite bump and I have noticed the waddling as well. Especially when I first get up from sitting, because I feel like I've been punched really hard in the crotch :P It's pretty awful.

I'm having so many more unpleasant symptoms waaaay earlier this time around. Makes me think I'm in for a looong 5 months.

  • I asked DH if he has noticed me waddling lately, and he said, "no more than usual." Apparently I am a waddler by nature. Thanks a lot, DH! :)

  • I totally blame my waddling on the back pain, but bending over is starting to be an issue, when I bend over to tie my shoes and stand up there is sometimes a pain in my lower tummy/pelvis area, like I pulled something...I tell DH its because nugget doesn't like the shoes I am wearing and that we have to get ones nugget likes better.  He hasn't bought it..YET

Part of waddling seems to come from the ligaments in your hips loosening/strecthing, and that is unavoidable unfortunately. However, there are ways to not end up walking COMPLETELY like a duck lol.

  • I seem to more when I've been sitting odd/uncomfortably or when I first get up in the morning.  MH hasn't said anything yet but I'm sure it will come up when we're on vacation with the ILs.

  • I don't have a problem with bending over or moving in any way, but 3 separate people have told me I 'walk like a pregnant lady' which apparently means i point my toes outward. I think its just our hips rotating (already??? jesus) I do have a bump but its not getting in the way of anything except wearing tight clothes.
