I miss my old stomach

So I've started exercising a lot more regularly (it kind of all fell off after I had DS). While I'm definitely noticing an improvement in my mid-section, I feel like I'm stuck with loose skin, even as I gain muscle tone. I never carried weight in my stomach before DS, so this is beyond annoying. Any tips to regain a flat, smooth abdomen?

  • It will get better and better the more you work on it.  You just need patience.  My belly skin was really loose for a good while after the twins.  It's still looser than before, but there is a vast difference.

  • I've been doing a weight-training/cardio class and have noticed a big difference all over. My belly is taking longer than the rest of me, but I'm seeing a difference there, too, after only about four weeks.

I'm just going to keep working at it. I'm not sure the remnants of my stretchies will smooth out any time soon, but I'm hopeful that if I can tighten things up enough that the little bumps won't bother me too much because it's such an overall improvement.

Although for me it's #2, so that may make a difference as well. ;)

  • Focus on stomach exercises! Having a strong core will suck it all back inwards, even if the loose skin is still there. Also, make sure you have good posture and try to actively pull your stomach in. I did the '8 minutes abs' tape with a weight for years before I got pregnant and have done them since having DS and I swear it made all the difference in the world.

Jillian Michaels is evil. That's all I have to say about that

I forgot to add, but have you ever tried Pilates? They really focus on the core.
