Need help....Child Care

Hi I'm new to the NC board and currently expecting our first child due in June. I have been searching for child care and my preference is to have a nanny come to our home. I don't have any references from anyone so I've been doing internet research. Do any mommies who have/had in house nannies/sitters have any advice, tips, suggestions or even references? It would be greatly appreciated!

 Forgot to add I'm looking in the Triangle area.

    I don't have any references, but I would definitely request a background check and driving record on anyone you consider, especially if they're gonna be driving your LO around. I did a search a while back and ran across someone that "sounded" good, but when I ran a check, the person turned out to have several child abuse cases pending in the court system and had a suspended driving privilege.
